A Beautiful Little Angel – Hummingbird

With approaching of fall to Minnesota, many birds are ready to migrate to the south. hummingbirds are something I have been trying to photograph.  With flying speed up to 50 meters (164 ft) and flapping their wings up to 70 times per second, it is very challenging to get them into a picture frame.

This Saturday morning, I went to a flower garden where some hummingbirds were hanging around.  Wandering patiently besides some flower plants for a while, I finally got some photos of hummingbirds.

During the time I following those little beautiful angles around, I also observed their unique skills: stopping in the middle of air and flying backwards.  Photography indeed teaches me something new each time.

  1. Is this same with humming birds? You are lucky can see this birds in the garden. I see for the first time, personally when I was in Ecuador and it was beautiful and so fun to see this creature. Unfortunately I can not see many birds in Copenhagen, usually just normal pigeon:) There are some other birds around but not in the city centre.

  2. Beautiful closeups! 🙂 I saw a hummingbird for the first time in another country but it was so small I thought I was looking at a bee at first. Silly mistake!
