This is my entry to “CEE’S FUN FOTO CHALLENGE: ANYTHING MAN MADE”.
These five things were randomly picked up along the streets at my hometown – Xi’an, China.
The ceramic ring with oriental style blue flowers is standing taller than a real person. That huge teapot has a mysterious internal design which prevents water spill out even in upside down position. Those gourds are actually the wine bottles, it makes me wonder how Chinese empty their inside without cracking their bodies. The old grain grinder is still used by some villagers to prepare the foods after harvest. The old water well has stopped functioning, it is just for display to tell stories in the far past.
A lot of man – made treasuries at my hometown are carrying traces from long history of China. They have been bringing me back to my roots again and again.
Sadly many of these traditional arts are disappearing, giving way to modernization or urbanization

Agree, a lot of them have lost to the cultural revolution (文化大革命)。
